SUPERTUBOS
Supertubos is a world-famous surf spot located in Peniche, Portugal. It's known for its powerful, hollow waves that break over a shallow sandbar, producing some of the best tubes in Europe.
The spot is exposed to Atlantic swells and works best on a northwest swell, with the best conditions occurring on a mid to low tide.
The wave can handle a lot of size, with waves up to 15 feet being ridden by experienced surfers.
Due to its reputation, Supertubos can get crowded, especially during peak surf season, but it remains a must-surf spot for any serious surfer visiting Portugal.
CONCOLACAO
Consolação Reef is a rocky surf spot located just south of Consolação beach in Peniche, Portugal. The wave at Consolação Reef is powerful and fast, breaking over a shallow reef bottom that produces steep, hollow barrels.
This is a spot for experienced surfers only, as the wave can be dangerous and the shallow reef poses a risk for injury. Consolação Reef works best on a large northwest swell and a low to mid tide, with offshore winds being ideal.
Consolação Reef is known for its consistent waves and beautiful scenery, making it a popular spot for experienced surfers looking for a challenging and rewarding surf session.
CANTINHO BALEAL
Beach break surf spot located on a small peninsula in Peniche, Portugal. The spot is known for its consistent waves and variety of breaks suitable for surfers of all levels, making it a popular destination for surfers and surf schools.
The wave shape at Baleal is primarily peaky with both left and right-handers available, breaking over a sandy bottom.
The best conditions for surfing at Baleal are typically on a mid to high tide with offshore winds, but the spot can work on a variety of tide and wind conditions. Baleal can get crowded during peak surf season, but there are a number of breaks along the peninsula, providing plenty of opportunities for surfers to find a spot to themselves.
Overall, Baleal is a great surf spot for surfers of all levels looking for consistent waves and a lively surf community.
LAGIDE
Lagide is an a-frame breaking over a reef with both lefts and rights.
The left from the a-frame is usually longer and better than the right.
Although quite fat and mellow with high tide, Lagide can be amazing with bigger waves and around mid tide.
Low tide is often too shallow…respect the locals!
ALMAGREIRA
Almagreira is a beach break surf spot located on the northwest coast of Peniche, Portugal. The spot is known for its consistent waves and variety of breaks suitable for surfers of all levels.
The wave shape at Almagreira is mainly peaky with both left and right-handers available, breaking over a sandy bottom. The spot works best on a mid to high tide with offshore winds, but it can produce fun waves on a variety of tide and wind conditions.
Almagreira is less crowded than some of the other popular surf spots in Peniche, but still attracts a good mix of locals and visitors. The spot offers a fun and friendly surf community with plenty of opportunities to meet other surfers.
NORTH COAST - PICO / BELGAS
Pico & Belgas are beach breaks surf spots located on the northwest coast of Peniche, Portugal.
Both spots are known for their consistent waves and variety of breaks suitable for surfers of all levels.
The wave shape there is mainly peaky with both left and right-handers available, breaking over a sandy bottom. The spots work best on a mid to high tide with offshore winds, but they can produce fun waves on a variety of tide and wind conditions.
Belgas is a less crowded surf spot compared to some of the other popular spots in Peniche, making it a great option for surfers who want to avoid the crowds.
